Orcas Island Getaway: Day 4

Today we had a very lazy sort of day. Steve went out early to photograph—what else?—some waterfalls. Rosie and I stayed behind and went to the beach to see what we could find. We found a big jellyfish, and we examined it after we pulled it into shore with a stick. Then we shoved it back out to sea, and only after we did so did we remember we had the cell phone camera with us. But when we went back to find it, we had no luck.

We cancelled our whale watching tour and rescheduled for Sunday since it was rainy. We had lunch at a place called Mom's TLC Cafe, then drove to Olga, Obstruction Pass and Doe Bay. The weather started to clear so we shopped a bit at the Eastsound shops, picked up pizzas at the market, then came back to the Beach House. Rosie met a little boy at the beach named Aiden.

It got pretty cold later in the evening, so Rosie and I moved up to the shelter of Paula and Mal's front porch and read for awhile while the crows fought with each other over the chips and popcorn we left out for them.

Now we're cozy inside our loft and the rain has held off for the most part. Tomorrow I'm sure I'll be dragged down to the beach once again to search for crabs and starfish . . .
